WHAT ARE SUPERBUGS
Superbugs are microbial strains including bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi that develop resistance to the majority of antibiotics and medications that provide effective treatment to ailments and diseases. With the various kinds of superbugs like klebsiella pneumoniae, candida auris, escherichia coli, staphylococcus aureus, and more, life-threatening infections and other diseases like pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and blood infections can be developed. Therefore, when taking an antibiotic for unnecessary reasons such as when one has a viral infection, the drug will not affect the pathogen making you sick. Instead, it demolishes the variety of bacteria in the body that helps in the overall function of the body system—the bacteria used when digesting food, fighting infection, and maintaining good health. The drug-resistant bacteria, known as superbugs, continuously thrive and spread, sharing their drug-resistant traits with other bacteria.

How to Prevent Superbugs
The spread of superbugs can only be slowed down if populations work as a whole. There are many actions people must take to ensure superbugs don’t continue spreading and growing at an alarming rate.
